No, @functionzer0 there is nothing better than "Modern Life" except maybe future life. It is amazing that such freedoms and choices and life does exist. Yet there is a lot that gets hidden from us as children and no one ever teaches us to deal with it... I wish it would happen sooner, but better lives will result from better parenting. Better parenting will result in lowering our tolerance for abusive relationships.
But I don't believe that it has to be a choice; we deserve truth which will create happiness. We are here to act on our virtues for truth to be happy.
Then again, what do I know...
