Welcome, new posters
Celeste/454 Jun 14th
With greater access to media, information goes around more freely. With time, people are less likely to fall for the old tricks from anyone seeking a position of power. It will change the political realms, though the silent majority will have to face desperate lobbyists first, before we get a worthy representation.

masked.name to the rescue, bitches

Set ourselves to convert DeadInside to proven relaxation techniques

Also, I'm on TorPM ( 4eiruntyxxbgfv7o.onion )

Welcome, NinjaTuna, as well as the others

@Celeste True, it won't work, but that doesn't mean we should lie down and let it happen.
Celeste/415 Dec 29th
The concept of a blacklist for Internet access is flawed, domains change, and you cannot know in advance what they are going to be, and keeping blocking old ones prevent them to be used, at some point, it will deplete the pool of valid ones...
Celeste/407 Dec 14th
Soon we will embark in 2010.

To the posters earlier, you have the choice to overspend on useless store items, or you can go serve food in a shelter, go read to hospitalised folks...

Be an example to follow

Now is too soon to have a defined substance, this hidden service has a low usage. When it increases some, substance will be better defined, you know, as clearer goals for example that we could each work at, activism out of concern.
Ampersand/387 Oct 30th
@Celeste/384

I can't say that I've seen much collaboration on masked.name. Is this 'substance' you speak of simply 'more people?'
Or, perhaps, do you think there are enough people, simply not enough posts?
Celeste/384 Oct 26th
See it as a pause, in order to regain momemtum

There is a colloborative interaction on masked.name, we first have to define the substance, then we will concretise the agreement
Ampersand/382 Oct 26th
@Celeste/376

this seems to be more of a meditation or an aside from your previous posts, any reason for such?
Compared to your previous, strongly-worded (and willed) posts, there seems to be a small kind of hopelessness in the rhetorical nature of the post.

Forgive me if I'm reading too much into the matter.

With a financial system that only benefits the banks, and prevaling notion that fortunes are the one and only goal to have in life, no wonder that companies have more power than politics.

Remember, there is nothing wrong with plundering Africa of its natural resources, having peasants risk their lives with no safety equipment, as long as Western Forces continue to buy larger mansions, and hysterically amuse themselves about how miserable anyone else is

Some ISPs gave their clients warnings that they were sharing copyrighted material, that they should stop doing it, and that they will be disconnected if they continue.

What does masked.name think of that? Is it better than going after individuals in court?
Celeste/357 Aug 24th
mister, you found i2p sites, it is a good idea to put your material in more than one place, in case one of them goes offline

@Celeste: intelligence and consiousness are not human-restricted traits, but guilt (for the past) and worry (about the future) are much less in the awareness of other sentient beings -- they are more human. Which is sad, if we were more aware of simply being, and less aware of *I*, we'd probably 'get it'.

Onion OS? We need to know more about this

How did you find out about those paid webcam shows? They randomly ask you out in chatrooms? Maybe the girls are pushed to work long hours, even on when they don't want to.

Around the globe, poverty in the norm, moreover in case of families. Does the money really go towards them, or is it some criminal groups? Would we be helping the family, or some trafickers?

Zeitgeist is a major analysis of how crooked the bank system is.

Whenever we hear that we are in a "crisis", the rule of thumb is that it is an artificial one, whose purpose is to make rich people richer without consideration of the negative impacts it has on the unaware public.

Mort, what do you know about Tor? Probably not enough.

To go on websites, and appear to be linked to an IP address that is not your own, you have to first connect to other computers, they fetch the information you requested, and they give it back to you. Volunteers across the world, oftentimes from technologically advanced countries, lend part of their traffic so that any Tor user can be relayed.

It is not a single hop, $100/month VPN server that is entirely yours. Tor is to have a strong anonymous status. Your requests travel the world, so time of day is a factor, when it is night in Australia or any other place, there is less congestion for the traffic relayed by Australia, but when you cross timezones during heavy traffic periods, you will have more trouble.

What you could do is to talk to your friends about Tor, and have them, and you also, be relays (you don't have to be an exit nodes, of course), so that you will have less times when you have trouble.

Also, try Tor a couple of times, force circuits to be changed when you have trouble, wipe out the descriptors, have them renewed, that way, you have a fresh start, and overall, you will actually find out that Tor is reliable, speed changes of course, just remember, this is not your personal VPN server, this is a free of charge anonymous service.
Celeste/295 Jul 3rd
There is no need for SSL, hidden services are already hosted and accessed through Tor, encrypted end-to-end.

All is left for you is to choose a lengthy, complex password
Celeste/289 Jun 26th
There is no need to worry too much, Tor one way to help, it is not the only proxy system around. Of course, when people are in a hurry, and try to set up proxies for the first time, they may not know how to check if things are going the way they should, but in the long run, it is a step in the right direction
Celeste/280 Jun 22nd
We'll always welcome users who set up relays to help advance this project. pr0p4g4t3, you allow countless blocked, censored international voices to reach outside their glass jail, plus you went beyond the average method, we congratulate you
Celeste/271 Jun 6th
The Tor project relies on a network of volunteers. Cybervandalism of a forum impacts its users, launching automated bandwidth hoggers brings the experience down for everyone. Connections are shared, they are limited.

Be considerate for any and all who embark on this vast realm of neutralized monitoring of web-surfing
Celeste/261 May 20th
The reasons we are on sites reachable through *.onion, *.i2p, (others?) are diverse, of course.

Some might be attracted by the technical implications, others, the potential to elevate society.

Am I chasing dreams, reaching for Utopia?

Instead of going into lengthy discussion back & forth here, anyone who would like to react to my initial statement can do so at TorPM : 4eiruntyxxbgfv7o.onion/pm , at the same name.

I will briefly conclude by saying that embracing value, quality over abundance is essential to me, it can collide with the masses, even with some around this parallel World Wide Web, I cross my fingers improvement occurs for everyone

When you're at the feature requests, am I the only one confusing sign-up and sign in?

@Celeste thank you. Nice to meet you too.

@Omen what do you mean by identity? You might be right about the gender but cryptography might solve the identity problem, right? You still won't know whether its real person or some thought construct of some people sharing public key (now I'm getting reeeealy cyberpunkish here) but i should be the same person every time.

Anyway, about that security problems of TOR someone was mentioning on onionforum - I seriously dislike it, so I'd like to talk about it here if you don't mind.

Someone's been saying that tracing by ISP is possible. That's kind of hard, isn't it?

"Hey, we need to talk about who was ip 11.22.33.44 talking to on this and that date and time."
"Right. These 260 hosts, 240 of that not in this country."

Extraterritoriality is a nice! And with more tor nodes, this is even harder.

Or am I missing something?
Omen/256 May 15th
@Celeste/255

I find the concept of identity or gender on an anonymous medium to be ironic. I respect your pride, though.
Celeste/255 May 15th
It will take time, but we can expect to see more and more girls that will profess their inner-selves, no longer behind a vague nickname that can apply to either / neither gender.

Whoever launched masked.name, you are to be congratulated.

As for the previous Lady, continue to fortify on this onion-routed gathering of independent, strong willed individuals. Your voice impacts us in a grandiose manner
